Scholarships announced for Abuja orphans
Abuja – The People’s Democratic Party (PDP)
spokesperson, Olisa Metuh, has announced
scholarships for orphans at the Abuja Children’s
Home
The scholarships are up to university level.
Metuh announced the scholarship award during
his visit to the home to celebrate his 50th
birthday with the less privileged in the society.
Metuh also visited the Internally Displaced
Persons (IDP) camp in Wassa, Abuja where he
shared meals, distributed assorted food items and
pledged to collaborate with relevant government
agencies to provide drinking water in the camp.
He presented various food items, including
grains, beverages and drinks to the IDPs after
visiting various homes in the camp, where he met
with families.
“I was deeply touched by their deplorable
condition, especially the absence of basic
amenities like drinking water, which prompted
him to pledge to collaborate with relevant
government agencies to provide potable water in
the camp,” Metuh said.
The National Emergency Management Agency
(NEMA) Coordinator of IDP Relief in Abuja, Amina
Hassan, commended Metuh for his gesture, which
she described as the largest intervention from an
individual to the IDPs.
