JAMB Declines To Extend Validity Of Results
The registrar of the Joint Admissions And Matriculation Board, JAMB, Professor, Is-Haq Oloyode says the unified tertiary matriculation examination result cannot be used for admission after one year.
The registrar was responding to moves by the senate to extend the lifetime function of a UTME result to three years.
Oloyede spoke in Abuja at a stakeholders meeting with former jamb members and civil society groups on the 2018/2019 admissions guidelines.
While accusing operators of some computer-based centres of extorting unsuspecting candidate, dual biometric capturing and use of emails for fraud during collection of result last year, the registrar appealed to striking non-teaching staff of universities to suspend the action as most of the certified CBT centres for this year are located on campuses
Some stakeholders however called on jamb to provide first aid boxes at examination centres as well as enough security and availability of electricity to avoid obstruction of exam process in case of power failure.
